An introduction to the Fort Pierce walking tour. Mention is made of the sponsoring organizations and other organizations that offer additional local history, art, literature and environmental information. Then a brief history of Native American settlement on the southeast coast of Florida is discussed. As well as the European Settlement of Florida, from the Spanish explorers to the Americans. It will explain how Fort Pierce was named and its significance during the 2nd Seminole Indian War. A brief history of the Seven Gables House is also included in this stop.
