The Ponce de Leon Hotel was one of many hotels built by Henry Flagler. Flagler knew his wealthy friends and guests would expect luxury and entertainment while they warmed themselves in St. Augustine away from northern winters. \n\nThe Ponce de Leon Hotel was open for 79 years--from 1888 until 1967.
